Our Story

Lowenthal APC is the product of hard work, dedication and a 7-year commitment to ultimate client satisfaction. Justin Lowenthal, a Davis native, began the practice in 2010, just moments after receiving confirmation that he would be admitted to the California State Bar Association as an attorney. Throughout law school, Justin interned, clerked and studied, while working nearly full-time in order to pay his way through law school. He grew a passion for working hand-in-hand with clients to solve problems and, once he obtained his license to practice law, the practice now known as Lowenthal APC was born. Armed with a laptop, cell phone and an ironing board as a desk, Justin built Lowenthal from nothing, with nothing, and now works collaboratively with some of the region's most successful business owners, investors, developers, professionals and emerging companies to help them achieve their financial objectives through careful navigation and tactical use of the law.

Our practice focuses on providing real estate services and strategies in four central areas of real estate practice:  Advance Planning, Finance, Transactions and Litigation (and Alternative Dispute Resolution or "ADR"). We work primarily with homeowners, home buyers, real estate investors, developers, brokers, agents and contractors with a focus on transactional negotiations requiring collaborative deal-making. The ever increasing complexity of California real estate law demands the attention of a specialized firm such as Lowenthal. Sole shareholder and Managing Attorney, Justin Lowenthal, is a native of Davis and has been a practicing real estate attorney-broker in the Davis community for nearly seven years. Justin is honored to have been peer endorsed and rated by his clients, each time receiving the highest marks, both as an attorney and as a real estate broker. Depending on the case, we offer an hourly rate or a flat rate, though sometimes alternative fee arrangements may be possible. Our lawyers and legal assistants keep detailed logs of the time they spend on your case, tracked in real-time. Work logs will be disclosed to all clients monthly and upon the closing of a case. We do not charge monthly retainers and we only work for as long as a case requires, so you’ll never be overbilled for unproductive time. All bills will include costs and advance deposits may be required.
